Spring Meeting of NATO reserve officers

On April 11 and 12, CIOR NATO reserve officers convened at the Headquarters of Rapid Reaction Corps (HQ RRC-FR) in the citadel designed by Vauban in Lille.

Exploring the Army

The organization and missions of the RRC-FR were presented: education, training, exercises, certifications, operations provided an opportunity to discover this specific component of NATO’s Reaction Force (NRF). It is indeed a multinational, highly ready and technologically advanced force that the Alliance can deploy quickly to wherever it is needed, either within or beyond the Euro-Atlantic area. The RRC-Fr also employs reservists, for instance on major exercises.

The work agenda

Delegates from 28 NATO member countries and CIOR partner countries worked in their respective committees to finalize projects initiated at the MWM in Brussels. Among these, the Military Competition, CIOR Language Academy or the coming Symposium on the subject of crisis management.

An event within the official national reservists’ day

On this occasion, a dinner with a guest speaker was organized on April 12 at the Musée des Canonniers with the support of Lille City Council. The subject of the debate was “Reserve forces and citizenship”.

This meeting was the last stage step before the Summer Congress in Fulda (Germany) and provided an opportunity to initiate the handover process to the incoming Bulgarian presidency.
