CIOR Seminar 2025 "Societal Resilience"
Introduction
Acknowledging the challenging geopolitical situation, many nations are seeking to strengthen their defensive capabilities. The events of the past years have shown that defensive capability is defined by much more than just the quantity of active soldiers and systems. More than that, the ability to quickly mobilize significant numbers of sufficiently trained reserves and replace and repair lost material are essential.
Engaging in a symmetrical conflict for an extended period of time also tests the willingness of the general population to endure the associated hardships such as, e.g., limited access to electricity for extended periods of time. Politicians and military alike will be challenged in their leadership roles to lead through these troublesome times.
Together with our distinguished speakers and guests, we hope to cover the various aspects connected to building “societal resilience” from the perspective of politics, citizens, military, and economy.
