The first International Cyber Event (ICE) was held virtually in November 2022 with contributions from Delegates to the Committee, an update on NRFC’s Cyber Project and from the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE).
Development of a cyber capability in CIOR
Recognising that most cyber operatives were in the reserves and that a number of CIOR members had access to their skillsets, CIOR have subsequently provided guidance on the pathways and challenges in setting up cyber force from a reserve perspective and run workshops and events to brief on the subject.Sharing Best Practice
The purpose of the event is Sharing know-how on national cyber forces and cyberreserves. The varied nature of reserves across the confederation can make it hard to share information of a secure nature. Due to this most of the work of the Cyber Working Group and now committee has been done at the unclassified level. The CR-C has declared a clear and ambitious intent to act as a Cyber Reserve Thinktank for NATO and to be able to signpost to Reserve Cyber expertise.
