The processing of personal data, such as the name, address, e-mail address, or telephone number of a data subject shall always be in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and in accordance with the country-specific data protection regulations applicable to the CIOR. By means of this data protection declaration, CIOR would like to inform the general public of the nature, scope, and purpose of the personal data we collect, use and process. Furthermore, data subjects are informed, by means of this data protection declaration, of the rights to which they are entitled.
As the controller, CIOR has implemented numerous technical and organizational measures to ensure the most complete protection of personal data processed through this website. However, Internet-based data transmissions may in principle have security gaps, so absolute protection may not be guaranteed. For this reason, every data subject is free to transfer personal data to us via alternative means, e.g. by telephone.

Personal data that you provide to us when filling out forms (e.g. to register for events, apply for open positions or for scholarships, sponsorship inquiries, or to provide feedback), by phone, or by e-mail, will of course be treated confidentially. We use your data exclusively for the purpose of processing your request. Please be aware that our voluntary personell might also be located outside of the Europen Economic Area, e.g. in the United States of America or Canada. 
The legal basis for data processing is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our (and your concurrent) legitimate interest in this data processing results from the goal of answering your inquiries, solving any problems that may exist and thus maintaining and promoting your satisfaction as a user of our website.

Storage period/ criteria for determining the storage period:

All personal data that you provide to us when making inquiries via this website or by e-mail will be deleted by us in principle no later than 180 days after the final reply has been given. 
If you assert your rights as a data subject (see below), your personal data will be stored for 3 years after the final reply to prove that we have provided you with comprehensive information and that the legal requirements have been met.

Transfer to recipients in a third country 

If we transfer data to recipients in a third country (located outside the European Economic Area), you can see this in the information on the recipients/categories of recipients within the description of the respective data processing. Some third countries are certified by the European Commission through so-called adequacy decisions to have a data protection standard that is comparable to the level in the European Economic Area. If a country does not have a comparable data protection standard, we ensure that data protection is adequately guaranteed by other measures. We have no influence on the data processing of these websites/ apps.
