The CIOR Language Academy Kicks Off at Estonian Academy of Security Sciences

2LT Pierre-Antoine Benoit (FR), CIOR StratCom committee 22.07.2024
The CIOR Language Academy (CLA) began its latest session last Monday at the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences, ushering in an intensive period of language training aimed at enhancing military language proficiency. Altogether 126 students from 13 countries improve their English and French during two-week intensive course.
The largest number of students  - 40 - is from France, the second biggest delegation is from United States.

The CLA focuses on providing military-oriented English and French training, with a particular emphasis on the operational lexicon used within NATO.As the program enters its second and final week, students have the opportunity to take the optional STANAG test under the guidance of SHAPE instructors. Success in this test is crucial for equipping participants with the linguistic skills necessary for future NATO positions and deployments.

This rigorous training program serves as a significant career advancement tool, offering participants an immersive international experience that underscores the core values of NATO. The CLA not only prepares military personnel for operational readiness but also fosters a sense of cooperation and shared purpose within the NATO alliance forces and their partners.
