Major Andre Lilleleht received a high national award

On February 21st president of Estonia, Mr. Alar Karis awarded the Order of the Cross of the Eagle IV class to Major Andre Lilleleht, Secretary General of CIOR.

Major Lilleleht was awarded the high decoration for his outstanding voluntary contribution into national defence. He is the first officer who has received this medal for his service in reserves  - until today mostly acting military and police officers and units´commanders as well as soldiers who have fought bravely in combat, have been awarded the the Order of the Cross of the Eagle.

This year the Order was given altogether to 14 persons, including General Martin Herem – Chief of Defence and Lietenant Genera Riho Ühtegi – former Chief of Defence League.

Major Lilleleht is a dedicated teacher of national defence, he has worked in number of high schools and inspired students to be interested in military and security issues. He is a dedicated member of voluntary defence organisation Defence League and a member and former president of Estonian Reserve Officers´Association. He was the main initiator and engine of Estonian presidency of CIOR and has worked hard to promote and develop CIOR.

Besides his outsanding voluntary contribution to defence and his work with EROA and CIOR, Andre is working as a General Manager of Estonian Association of Security Companies.  He is married to Merit,  they have a son and a daughter.
