89 students learned English and French at CIOR language academy

This year´s CIOR Language Academy took place in Shrivenham, United Kingdom. During two week 89 students from twelve countries improved their English and French skills.   

This year CLA had 20 more students than last time. Large contingent of Ukrainians – altogether 14 students – were learning English here. “Ukrainian students want to be back and we would like to take twice as many Ukrainian students next year,” COL Stanisas de Magnienville, Director of CLA said.  

For the first time CLA had four students from Morocco. Besides them students from Estonia, Finland, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Spain, Hungary, Greece, Germany, USA, UK, France took part of the language academy.

This year the CLA provided five English classes from beginners to very advanced and three French classes. Students had  the opportunity to qualify through the STANAG second and third  level language examination, which is precondition to serve in NATO positions.

The CLA runs annually for two weeks in a different host nation each time. Previous hosts include Estonia, Poland, Spain, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Moldova, Türkiye and The Republic of North Macedonia.

The CIOR Language Academy will take place between 20 - 31 July 2026. This is a two week intensive English and French language course, focusing on military language, and fostering interoperability between NATO members.
